Knox Law Firm seeking attorney

Knox Law Firm is seeking an attorney to work in its Governmental Practice Group. Successful applicants will work within the largest law firm based governmental practice in Northwestern Pennsylvania, providing legal counsel to dozens of school districts, municipalities, municipal authorities and special purpose entities throughout a multi-county region. Attorneys in the Group serve as solicitor, or general counsel, to governmental entities, with duties ranging from providing general counsel on all matters of operations and board governance; including, but not limited to, constitutional matters affecting operations and public school students, public contracting and procurement, parliamentary procedure during public meetings, economic development, grants programs, land use matters, compliance with the Sunshine Act, Public Official and Employee Ethics Act, the Right-to-Know Law, and other operational governing statutes such as the Public School Code, Municipality Authorities Act, Third Class City Code, Second Class Township Code, Borough Code and Optional Plans Codes, in addition to other governing laws. The ability to attend regular public meetings is required.  

Highly qualified applicants will have at least 2 years’ relevant experience.

The position requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. based law school and the eligibility for attorney licensure in Pennsylvania; and/or current admission to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania.
