George Joseph Starts Term as Erie County Bar Association President

Erie, PA | January 6, 2020 — Attorney George Joseph of Quinn Law Firm took over duties as President of the Erie County Bar Association, effective January 1, 2020. Joseph, a graduate of Norwin High School, Dickinson College, and the Dickinson School of Law, is heading into his role with several key objectives.

One of his objectives for 2020 is increasing the engagement and involvement of the nearly 500 Bar Association members. He hopes to accomplish this through a variety of ways, most notably with a Bench-Bar Conference scheduled for mid-November of this year.

Attorney Joseph will also look to “promote civility and collegiality and enhance professionalism among members of the ECBA.”

Finally, in addition to assisting in the orientation of the new ECBA Executive Director, Julie Kresge, Attorney Joseph would like to evaluate the ECBA’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service. The LRIS is dedicated to helping the Erie Community find qualified attorneys to provide legal advice, guidance, counseling, or representation in nearly all areas of law.

Attorney Joseph is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation (Life Fellow), and the Pennsylvania School Boards Solicitors Association. He is also the Chair of the Executive Board for Family Services of NWPA.

Indeed one of Attorney Joseph’s most impressive attributes is his activity in the Erie area, including the Erie Kiwanis Club. He also serves as the Assistant Erie County Solicitor, as well as the Solicitor for the Conneaut, Fairview, Ft. LeBoeuf, and Northwestern School Districts, Northwest Tri-County IU5, Waterford Township, Summit Township Sewer Authority, Pleasant Ridge Manor, Diocese of Erie Catholic Schools Office, and Mercyhurst Preparatory School.

Attorney Joseph and his wife, Tina, have two children: Daniel and Emily.
