SPEAKER
Rachael Downey Glasoe, Esquire, currently works in the Governmental Practice Division of Knox McLaughlin Gornall and Sennett, P.C. Her legal career has focused on public service, and she spent several years as an Assistant District Attorney prior to becoming an Assistant Public Defender. At the height of COVID, Rachael stepped into the role of Chief Public Defender of Snyder County, Pennsylvania. Her experience includes representing county Child Protective Services agencies in Texas as well as representing parents and children in Pennsylvania dependency court. Among her current clients are school districts, which often serve as the battleground for deeply-held community tensions. Rachael’s study of the science and biology behind self-care has been essential to sustaining nearly 20 years of high-volume, high-stakes work that tests both physical and emotional stamina.
SEMINAR
Women lawyers will learn how their brains and bodies work in ways that affect well-being and productivity. Knowing this information can empower women to develop strategies for self-care that go beyond just taking breaks and enjoying treats. Specific topics include unmasking cultural challenges particular to women, befriending the neurobiology that underpins a lawyer’s functionality, and using (instead of fighting) hormone cycles in the legal profession. This seminar is aimed at encouraging all women to level up their everyday feelings of wellness and effectiveness.
