Videoconferencing/ Teleconferencing Services
Available to members and the public
What is videoconferencing? Videoconferencing, also known as teleconferencing, facilitates live,
face-to-face communication. You will be connected to persons at one or more remote locations via special telephone lines and communicate easily through the use of a television
monitor and highly sensitive microphone system. This state-of-the-art technology allows crisp, clear audio and video and an
opportunity to conduct business as if both parties were in the same room. Why use videoconferencing?
Videoconferencing cuts costs while adding convenience. Out-of-town business, such as depositions, can be held without the expense and
inconvenience of travel, overnight accommodations and time out of the office. What are some of the common uses of videoconferencing?
Depositions, employment interviews, seminars, training sessions, sales promotions to groups - the list of possibilities is endless. How do I schedule its use?
Call the Erie County Bar Association at 814-459-3111 to determine if your preference of date and time is available. We can find a remote location for
the other party anywhere is the United States or worldwide. What are the fees involved?
Members of the Erie County Bar Association should contact the ECBA
office regarding member rates.
For the public, the Erie County Bar Association charges $215/hour during business hours
of Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Rates are $270/hour for conferences within 2 hours before or 4 hours after regular business hours.
This fee includes room rental, use of equipment (which is handled by staff - you don't need to know anything about operations!), document camera, free
parking behind our headquarters, coffee/pop. These rates are for the ECBA receiving a videoconference call initiated by
another site. If we initiate the call, add $75/hour.
I'm not familiar with videoconferencing. Can I see how it works?
