Formed in 1991, the Erie County Bar Foundation is a public nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. It’s purposes include, but are not limited to, promoting education generally, granting scholarships and providing legal services to the poor.
Several of the Foundation’s programs are:
The Chief Justice Samuel J. Roberts Scholarship Fund
The Chief Justice Samuel J. Roberts Scholarship Fund annually provides a scholarship to a first year law school student who is a resident of Erie, Pa attending an ABA approved law school. If grades are maintained, the student is eligible for renewal of the scholarship for his or her second and third years.
Erie County Court House Projects Fund
Erie County Court House Projects Fund grants are considered when in connection with historic Courtroom H. Funds may be requested to pay for the continued maintenance of this historic Courtroom, on-going restoration needs, improvements and technological improvements.
Contributions to the Foundation are needed, especially to continue growing the Chief Justice Samuel J. Roberts Scholarship Fund principal. We hope you will remember the Foundation with memorials and other donations.
Memorials and donations may be made through our on-line donation site or sent directly to the Erie County Bar Foundation, 302 West Ninth Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16502.
