Maximize your clients’ health care benefits
Millions of Americans enrolled in Medicare are also eligible for additional health care assistance programs. To maximize the effectiveness of these programs to cover the costs of quality medical care and prescription medications, you need to understand the benefits that each program provides and how best to coordinate and integrate these benefits for your clients’ specific needs.

Learn what Medicare and other health care assistance programs offer
In this new course, you will examine the parts of “basic” Medicare, what the eligibility criteria are, how to enroll, and enhancements to “basic” Medicare such as Medigap Supplemental Plans, Medicare Advantage and the Medicare Part D prescription drug program. And you’ll look beyond Medicare and explore how to apply for other assistance programs such as:

  • Medicaid
  • Medicare Savings Program
  • Prescription Drug Assistance Programs:
    • Federal Low Income Subsidy (LIS) – Extra Help

Discover how to access and utilize the best benefit options
By the end of this program, you will be able to:

  • Recognize the basic functions of the Medicare system
  • Identify the multiple components of Medicare and each part’s specific characteristics
  • Understand what other programs are available to provide assistance with the costs of health care and prescription drugs
  • Decide if your clients are eligible and how to obtain the most effective coverage for their specific needs
  • Coordinate & integrate coverage without jeopardizing existing benefits
